After some question marks surrounding the event, the 4th of July celebration in Lahaina town will be as good as ever.
For those of you who have never attended the independence day celebration or will be visiting Maui on Saturday, the festivities are a great way to celebrate our country’s independence. Starting at 5 pm at the oceanfront Lahaina library, a variety of bands will be performing free concerts. There is also plenty of great shopping and restaurants to hit on Front Street before the sun sets and the fireworks begin.
Beginning at approximately 8pm, the firework show will commence from a barge in the Lahaina harbor. The best viewing of the fireworks will be from Front Street in Lahaina or you can charter a boat in the harbor. My pick would be to charter the boat in the harbor and enjoy the show aboard your own personal vessel. There is something mystic to be watching the fireworks out on the ocean in the warm Maui air. Of course, not everybody (including myself) has the money to do so and watching it for free on Front Street is grand as well.
Hope to see you guys out there and happy independence day!
