On Friday of this week, Lahaina will be hosting its annual Halloween bash on Front Street. Although the festivities will not be as crazy as year’s past, there are still plenty of fun to be had. Lahaina News has provided great coverage of all of the events on Maui for Halloween. Below is excerpt of some of our favorite events for Friday:
Keiki Halloween Parade
Kids in costume will take over Front Street during the annual Keiki Halloween Parade, beginning at 4:30 p.m. at the corner of Papalaua and Front streets and ending at Banyan Tree Park. Front Street will be closed starting at 4 p.m. Hosted by the Soroptimist of West Maui and the Rotary Club of Lahaina and Lahaina Sunrise Rotary Club, children 12 and younger are invited to participate in this family-friendly parade. Big-wave surfer and accomplished waterman, Archie Kalepa, will lead the way as parade grand marshall. For details, call Natalie Capitano at 205-9755.
Pioneer Inn Costume Contest
Pioneer Inn will have a costume contest starting at 7 p.m. for cash prizes: $500 for first prize, $300 for second and $200 for third place. Gift certificates will be given for the funniest and for the sexiest costumes. Admission is $5. Super G, Greg di Piazza and Rock & Roll band will play music in the courthouse until 11 p.m.
Haunted Theater III
Get spooked at Halloween Theater III from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Historic Iao Theater in downtown Wailuku. The $2 admission buys a re-creation of Michael Jackson’s "Thriller" choreographed by Alexander Cardinalli. Ghouls and goblins will guide guests in small groups through a frighteningly fun maze full of surprises including a live zombie. Tricks and treats will be on sale. Come in costume. Strobe lights and fog machines make this event not suitable for young children and some people with health conditions.
Lahaina.com wishes you a fun and safe Halloween!
