Living here in Chicago, we have a very elaborate public transportation system, that most of us take for granted. When we visited Hawaii for our honeymoon (Oahu and Kauai), we didn't rent a car. Waikiki was okay, but we were pretty much stranded while on Kauai. We've always rented a car on our trips to Maui, but it's good to know that we won't have to use it every single time we need to go somewhere. Better for the environment, too. It's a win-win.
