Maui Police to Host Town Meetings

Starting later this month, Maui police Chief Gary Yabuta and Deputy Chief Clayton Tom will be hosting town meetings throughout various communities on Maui.

Their focus and intent is to find out what is challenging the Maui community and how they can better serve its citizens. Some of the topics include:

  • Reducing crime
  • Dealing with critical incidents
  • Providing road and highway safety
  • Crime prevention and reducing drug activity 

The town meetings will take place at the following locations and dates:

  • Hannibal Tavares Up-country Community Center, Pukalani, Maui. Sept. 30 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
  • Mitchell Pauole Center, Kaunakakai, Molokai. Oct. 14 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
  • Helene Hall Center, Hana, Maui. Oct. 19 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
  • Kihei Community Center, Kihei, Maui. Oct. 22 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
  • Lahaina Civic Center, Lahaina, Maui. Oct. 26 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
  • Velma Santos Wailuku Community Center, Wailuku, Maui. Nov. 3 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
  • Lanai Community Center, Lanai, Maui. Nov. 5 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
