The Lahaina Cannery Mall welcomes the United States Navy’s popular Pacific Fleet Band in free concert on Wednesday, August 19.
The talented, Pearl Harbor-based ensemble will take center stage at the air-conditioned shopping center at noon to showcase its diverse jazz repertoire, which includes echoes of big band heroes such as Glenn Miller and Duke Elligton, as well as contemporary jazz cats such as Bob Mitzer.
Hawaii is richly steeped in naval history and the Pacific Fleet Band, which has long been a part of this heritage, continues the tradition of Navy music in the islands.
Lahaina Cannery Mall is Maui’s only fully enclosed, air-conditioned shopping complex. Open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Lahaina Cannery Mall has more than 50 shops and restaurants and is located on the north end of Lahaina Town fronting Honoapi‘ilani Highway and Front Street. Management and leasing handled by CB Richard Ellis.
